Day 3 – WSOP Main Event Re-Cap

Joseph Hachem threw out the first deck and then did the “Shuffle Up and Deal” honor just after noon with 1,159 entries left. All were very aware that the money bubble being less than 300 eliminations away.

Chip leader changed by day’s end from PokerStars.com qualifier, Dmitri Nobles to Jon Lane.

Pros and celebs that ended their run for the chips included Chris Ferguson, Tony Ma, John Gale and David Pham.

Still standing: Annie Duke, Allen Cunningham, Ted Forrest, Mark Vos, Daniel Negreanu (who made the comeback of the day from a short stack of $20K to over $100K and ensuring a Day 4), Joe Hachem, Hoyt Corkins, Ted Lawson, Tom McEvoy, Kathy Liebert, Cyndy Violette, Susie Isaacs, Cecilia Mortensen and Allyn Shulman.

481 players advanced to Day 4.

Play resumes at noon today with the question, "Will skill outlast luck at the 2006 WSOP Main Event?"
